Director and Physiotherapist
Brigid Jellis
At Sum Of Us, we believe in celebrating the uniqueness of every individual who walks through our doors
A key figure in our community is Brigid — a co-founder of Sum of Us Studio, a dedicated Prahran physio, and one of the driving forces behind everything this studio stands for.
Brigid co-founded Sum of Us alongside her husband, fellow physiotherapist and director Chris Jellis, and their business partners, Mel Price and Marney Jury. Together, they set out to build something they felt was genuinely missing in Melbourne — a place that combined the clinical rigour of modern physiotherapy with the warmth, beauty and inclusivity of the best yoga and wellness studios. As Brigid has said herself, they wanted to create a place where everyone feels welcome: whether you’re older, younger, have a child or never exercised before.
Profile
Brigid is an AHPRA-registered physiotherapist and member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Before founding Sum of Us, she and Chris established Domain Health Physiotherapy — building over a decade of experience running quality physiotherapy practices in Melbourne before bringing that expertise to High Street, Prahran.
A Welcoming Environment at Sum Of Us
The ethos of Sum Of Us is centred around creating a warm and inclusive environment — a philosophy that Brigid embodies fully. Our Prahran physio studio is not just a place for physical rehabilitation; it’s a community where everyone feels welcomed and valued. The supportive atmosphere is evident in every aspect of our practice, from the friendly staff to the calming ambiance of our studio. Brigid plays a crucial role in fostering this environment, making sure each client feels comfortable and cared for.
Brigid’s commitment to creating a positive experience for all is reflected in the small but meaningful details — greeting clients with a smile, spending extra time discussing their progress, and ensuring the studio always feels like a home away from home. Outside of her physiotherapy sessions, Brigid enjoys spending time in our studio’s cosy café, where she’s often seen enjoying a soy latte. This casual setting provides another opportunity for her to connect with clients and discuss their health journeys in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
A Passion For Movement, Education & Rehabilitation
Brigid’s journey into physiotherapy was driven by a fascination with the human body’s capabilities and a genuine desire to help others move better and live well. She loves exploring how movement can enhance overall wellbeing, and is committed to sharing that knowledge with every client she sees, because for Brigid, great physiotherapy goes beyond treatment. It’s about educating people about their own bodies and empowering them with the tools and understanding they need to reach their full potential.
Whether through personalised rehabilitation programs or guidance on maintaining long-term physical health, Brigid ensures her clients leave feeling informed and confident in managing their own wellbeing. Her clinical commentary has been shared in mainstream Australian media, where she has spoken on topics including workplace injury, posture and the physical toll of sedentary work, reflecting a broader commitment to public health education that extends well beyond the treatment room.
Brigid firmly believes that clinical rehabilitation has a vital role to play for everyone, regardless of age or physical condition. At Sum Of Us, she takes pride in designing tailored programs that meet the specific needs of each individual, from injury recovery to managing chronic pain, ensuring every person receives the highest standard of care. She finds genuine joy in being part of her clients’ healing journeys, watching them progress and achieve their health goals.
